Before installation
Record untreated hardness, water use, peak simultaneous flow and the plumbing entry point. A grain-capacity headline does not tell you the usable capacity at the planned salt setting. Ask for the settings and regeneration assumptions in writing. Confirm that the proposed system can deliver the required service flow without unacceptable pressure loss.
What the installation should include
A written scope should show the bypass, brine tank, drain arrangement, overflow provision, electrical requirements and access for future service. Have the provider confirm site-specific code and permit needs. Photograph the proposed route before approving equipment so drain limitations or a narrow service space do not become surprises.
How to check the result
At commissioning, compare untreated and treated hardness at agreed sample points. Keep the settings, startup result, model and maintenance instructions. If a particular faucet remains hard, establish whether it is intentionally outside the treated line before blaming the equipment.
The raw well and backwash supply
On a Loxahatchee private-well property, keep the well, pump and existing treatment sequence in the same assessment. Photograph each stage in the direction of flow and label any sample point before the equipment. Describe whether the well also supplies irrigation and whether the household notices changes while other water is running. Raw-well testing and available maintenance flow can alter the proposed sequence. A municipal city report or a neighbor’s installation does not specify your well system.
